I no longer have appointments available prior to the October 15th deadline to have your images edited before Christmas. I am now booking appointments for late October and November. If you should book during this time and purchase the negative disc, you can let me know which image your would like to have for your Christmas card and I can edit and email you that one in advance. The rest of the images and your final disc would be ready after the holiday. :)

I am taking the month of December off to spend time with my family and catch up on editing work from Fall.

I have admit I am rather glad that winter is coming to an end....Being a natural light photographer just makes me long for that late sunset shoot summer will bring. :) Aww to be warm again.

Why Custom Photography?

As the new year rings in I have increased my pricing just a little (to view click here). I have spent large amounts of time and money over the course of 4 years to become a self taught Professional Photographer and I research new fresh looks and ideas daily and continue to use my educational background in Interior Design to help me create a "one-of-a-kind" look for my clients.
Why should you choose to invest in Custom Photography:

I realize that Custom Photography isn't for everyone. It is a decision to be made carefully and with thought. What custom photography ultimately is all about is choice and experience. Custom photography is about finding someone who will photograph your family, give you devoted 1:1 attention without worry of who is next ‘in line’ or the feeling of a crowded portrait studio.

Custom photography is more of a luxury than your entry level cookie cutter chain experience. Custom photography truly is not for everyone, it requires a level of commitment, investment in time and money, forethought and planning on the part of the subject/client and requires a larger time commitment for the photographer as well.

The Cost Of Time:

There is a great deal of time involved in creating high end custom photography sessions for a client. The luxury of great service, better choices and a superb end product. The result of all this are heirloom quality images. The time invested at the session is only a small portion of time involved in this process. Much of the cost of a photographer has a lot to do with equipment costs, artistic vision, and reputation of the photographer not to mention expertise and the usual costs of running a legitimate business, and more importantly the countless hours spent following a photo shoot to prepare the photos.

The customized service level you are sure to experience will be amazing. The knowledge that your final images are the result of someone caring about those moments so much that they take extra time ensuring that the artwork you receive is good enough to stand by with their name on it. That level of quality and commitment is all but lost in the age of "mass produced," "mass marketed," corporate "everyone is a number". Custom photography is based on being unique to you. How great an experience would be, to be able to sit back and allow a photographer to do this highly custom work for images that you will most likely cherish for a lifetime?

Hawkeye Photography is now fully booked for Utah Shoots in December.

I am still booking shoots in Minnesota and yes I am willing to brave the outdoors if you are ;) I am also willing to shoot pictures in your homes with your own Christmas decor as the backdrop if you so wish it however any photo shoots scheduled from now through Christmas I will not be able to get to you prior to Christmas. I am fully booked with editing until after the holiday. (Sorry ;{ )

I will also be posting many MANY of my favorite pictures from this fall (eventually, probably after Christmas) so check back in soon!

Is it possible to have too much fun with one shoot??? Well if it is then we may have reached that limit with this shoot. And bless their hearts we did half of these pictures on the most humid day of the year. (and yes the pictures where she is dressed for winter were taken on this hot summer day and yet she still looked amazing!) There were endless possiblities with this beauty!!! I just know that you are going to love these as much as I do!

This couple gave me complete creative control over location, and poses! I could not be happier with how things turned out. This shoot was full of firsts...the location was a new one I had found, at one point we had this airplane fly right over head, and then at another point we had a train zoom right past as I was shooting. I cannot wait to see how things go with the wedding next year!

Aww these poor little girls had to put up with a lot for just a little 30 min shoot. First a totally brainless photographer who showed up for the shoot with all lenses, batteries, memory cards, flash, etc. But managed to not actually bring the actual camera body. Talk about total embarrassment on my part! And then of course we had a crazy time fighting off the mosquitoes, and lastly, what the girls didn't know, is that at the very end of the shoot a 3 foot snake went slithering right behind their mom and she almost stepped on it so I grabbed her arm and saved her from the snake. Anyway with all that being said the pictures I think are so adorable!

The best part of this shoot is that my most favorite photo from the shoot was actually not my idea but it was perfect!!!!! I love when my clients suggest things. This was my 3rd shoot this summer of a little girl with down syndrome and I hope they never end! I just coo over this little one. She was absolutely perfect! She smiled every single time I took her picture with out even a hicup! We didn't have to bribe, or beg, or even try to get her attention. She was just born to be photographed. And spending the shoot just laughing with her mother wasn't exactly work either! So without further adieu: Meet Ella!

So I have done a few children portraits with brown eyes, and then with blue eyes, but this one was a treat for me because he has the most stunning green eyes on a little 2 year old I have photographed to date! He was such a little charmer. Shy at first but once I got him to interact with me it was an easy shoot! The only negative was the fact that we were being eaten alive by bugs! So happy birthday to a very handsome little guy!

So I have to be honest....This shoot made me more nervous than any wedding I have done before now. 33 people in one photo, all smiling, all looking in my direction, and happy with the results? You would be nervous too huh! But with that said I think the shoot went pretty good. People were relaxed and happy. The pictures turned out pretty nice too ;) These are the pictures that will last forever in time.

I cannot beleive that is has been this long since I did their first engagement shoot but here we are just a few weeks from the wedding! I told the bride I just may be more nervous than she is for the day....and it is probably true! I am excited about it though, they have some really great things planned with some really great ideas for pictures. This engagement shoot was just a "mini" shoot but even still I couldn't just pick 5 to edit. They were all too good!

Mississippi River Scenery

During a paddle boat cruise on the river I took some scenic photos of the boat itself and also of one of the oldest train bridges on the river. It was built in the early 1800's, and we were lucky enough to see a train travel accross it. I aged these photos to make them seem like they were taken years and years ago. I could maybe be more excited about the birth of this little girl then the family is....maybe.... Okay probably not but still this little darling was a sweet surprise to a family who already had 4 boys who perfectly fit the definition of what a boy is. I had a blast doing their family photos a while ago and to now be able to come in to their home and add a little pink was just the perfect day. She is a beautiful baby! And I completely feel sorry for any future boys who try to court her...they will have to answer to 4 brothers and a dad first. Enjoy them!

I am so pleased with this wedding and how it all turned out. This is the first time in my photography career I have done both the engagements months before and then the wedding later for a client that I didn't originally know. But now I am so proud to say that they have become very good friends. The church was just a perfect place to photograph a storybook wedding. I know these two are just meant to be together and I wish you two many years of happiness and hope that you too enjoy these pictures for years to come!

This little family had such a sweet little story. They had a little boy pass away and in their yard they have planted a tree, and a garden in his memory. They also have this little bob the builder doll that they keep to remember him by and you will see him through out the shoot. I thought it was so sweet to have something like that in the family pictures. And with that said these 3 little ones were so much fun! We played ball and had lots of silly pictures in between all the more serious ones. I love how summery these turned out and I hope you guys enjoy them too!

I absolutely love these two and love being their mother. I couldn't ask for two more perfect subjects to photograph. I love my jobs!

I do need some help though, I don't know whether to print the orginal color pictures for my walls or to print the vintage-aged softer color ones. Leave a comment for me with your opinons!!!!! PLEASE! My photos on walls now are all currently black and white and my decorating style is a very urban-rustic with a hint of vitage charm. (if that helps at all) I am leaning towards the softer color ones but just not totally sold yet.

This was an extrememly enjoyable shoot for me. Hannah is one of the most ADORABLE little girls I have ever met. She is the type of person you meet and just fall in love with instantly! Her mother asked me to do a shoot for Hannah and her siblings so that she could send in a photo to the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota. They put out a calendar each year featuring these children. I happen to see the calendar one day while at the doctor's office with my own child and it is a really neat thing. I wish them the best of luck with it and hope their picture is chosen!

On a seperate note...I LOVE how this shoot turned out. All of these children are very photogenic which just makes my life easy.

A Depression Era Christmas

I cannot take credit for this adorable idea but I am going to totally do this for my own family one of these years! My georgous cousin and her family sent me the pictures raw and she asked me to edit them to look as if they were from the depression era and then create a christmas card. This is a family that I shot back in June. I think one of my most favorite things about doing photo shoots is that they all end up with their own unique look. They can be shot at the same location but the people, the lighting, the time of year, etc. all make such a difference. I never had the chance to post this as it happened right before I left town this summer. It only now seems like I am back into my routine. This was such a treat for me to have an article featured about me in the local newspaper. Who would ever complain about free advertising?

Awww another example of how fun summer shoots can be. Originally this was supposed to take place in a different location but I could not be happier that it ended up where it did. I learned two things during this photo shoot, first Eli has good taste like his mom-he loves this orange chair, second he has good taste like his mom-he loves skittles (perfect bribery)

Oh how I just coo over this chair. I am sure that you have to be a photographer to truly appreciate a vintage velvet tufted high back chair that you would search 6 months for and drive a 5 hour round trip with your 2 year old in tow just to have. I am so excited because it finally seems like opportunities are appearing for me here in Austin as a photographer. Obviously with my previous post in the magazine being one of them. I was also asked to donate a photo shoot in an Auction for the Catholic Schools Yearly Auction that they hold here in Austin. This is a huge way for me to get out to parents because they will see the items before auction, go to my site and check it all out and then be able to bid on the shoot. I am thrilled! And then I was told that my name was given for a possible career day volunteer in the middle school to talk about what I do. I cannot wait! I really hope that the business here picks up in the spring and summer. And then last I have been asked to do my second wedding. Weddings are sparse here as is and hard to book if you are new to them so any chance I can get to do it I will jump! This one should be exciting because they are looking for a really modern edgy urban look so it will be a bit different than my last one. So here is to hoping for more business here in Minnesota!!

Student Life Magazine

I am so excited to be branching out into other areas of photography. I was asked to photograph a classroom at the local high school here in Austin for the Student Life Magazine. It is a small magazine that is delivered to tons of local business and of course students of all ages around here. In return I received a full page add in the paper. This is exactly what I needed...I seemed to be struggling getting my name out here in this small town with out breaking my bank, especially to seniors. I hope this does the trick! Here are the photos for the magazine and then the page ad I created for paper. Let me know if you like it!

They are my age and younger and went to a rival highschool so we had lots of fun talking about people we knew and of course my hubby. They also went to school with him. I have finished another shoot from Christmas time in Utah. This one was also done at the same place as the last one. I am IN LOVE WITH THIS RED background! It was exactly what I needed after all the fall shoots. This family lives nextdoor to my parents and so I already knew them a bit. I was really nervous about this shoot afterwards because their littlest one DID NOT want his picture taken. I was worried that I wouldn't have a decent one of him but I was totally surprised by a few of them and how great they turned out! This little guy is full of life and energy and he calls my dad the same thing as he calls his grandpa (which I think is adorable! and my dad loves it) I hope you guys enjoy these pictures!

New Orleans

For New Years weekend I stole away with my hubby on a last minute trip to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. I have always wanted to go there and eat...yes just eat!! LOL and see some sights. This family shoot was really fun for me. I didn't know them before hand but they both went to school with my husband so had a great time just chatting the time away about the old highschool days of my hubby! This mom is freaking adorable and I wish we lived close by because I know we would become good friends. Later in the week I also did a shoot for her 3 brothers so watch for that one too. Their littlest one was an angel!!! He did so good during the shoot. And the poor big brother was so tired that he fell alseep ontop of his bear with a sucker in his mouth. It was too cute not to take a picture of. I hope you guys enjoy your pictures!!

Christmas

I am truly excited about this photo shoot for a couple of reasons!! First of all these are some new found friends of Noah and I and we absolutely adore them!!! Already in just a couple months we have grown to really enjoy our time with them so it was of course another fun photo shoot for me. Not to mention again...yes they are brown eyed dolls!!! And you all know how I love that brown. And the second reason I am excited about this shoot is simply that it is my first indoor shoot that really turned out the way I had hoped it would!! My new flash really helped a ton. So let me know what you think! Perfect for the season if you ask me...

My little Model

This is my little one. Trying to get a professional shoot of him proved to be more difficult now that I am a photographer. He had no interest in sitting still or smiling, but I still love the photos! And it will be fun to remember this shoot in a few years. He is growing up way to fast for me! But now you can see why I love BROWN so much! His little eyes are as rich as chocolate! And he is an adorable resemblemce to his cute father!

Yes I know I am a bit partial to the brown hair and brown eyes but you will see why with my next shoot after this one of my son. This family was just beautiful full of amazing dark hair and eyes and it is not hard to see where they get it from because their mom is gorgeous!! I hope you guys enjoy these pictures!! The Dare-devils

This is the cute family of a friend of mine from growing up years. Her little boys and her husband are such dare-devils. Most of the shoot was spent climbing on rocks and really tall trees and launching off them into dad's arms (maybe not the nine month old yet but I am sure he is soon to follow). I have a little boy and I just couldn't even picture him doing that! It was so entertaining!! I was so excited to do this family because I hadn't seen my friend since we graduated and she looked still just at cute as ever and her family was adorable!! I hope you enjoy these pictures.

It Speaks for itself

I loved photographing this family. I think they will speak for themselves but my goodness they are beautiful people!! Their little girls were adorable and had the best personalities. The little 5 year old had an amazing flare for camera posing, and the 9 month old baby was just adorable with her endless facial expressions and lots of clapping. I just kept snapping my camera and ended up with almost double the amount pictures I usually take with almost never a bad shot. I really enjoyed playing with these pictures and I truly hope they enjoy them as much as I have for the past two days. Thank you guys!

The Mobile Drooler

This cute little family are friends of friends and have become my friends. They have the most adorable little guy who just turned 9 months. He had so much character and some of the funniest little faces during the shoot. He also just learned to crawl and only wanted to keep moving and look down so I was on the ground at his level most of the time. I love love love the drool that kept falling down his chin. We got some really great pictures with the drool and I think it is such a keepsake memory of this age. I loved nine months with my own son. Another thing I want to point out about this shoot was the fabulous color choice the mom made for his clothes. The orange made his amazing blue eyes really sparkle!! Complimentary colors do wonders for us. That is a great thing to remember when trying to decide what to wear in a photo shoot. I hope you love them!!

December Photoshoots in Utah

Thanks to all the success I had in Oct with photoshoots in Utah I am going to open some time to do them again when I am there in Decemeber. I will be available to do shoots Dec. 15-21st. Cousins

This is the last shoot I did of my family members. It was a crazy day that day!! But lots of fun to spend time with them doing something different than normal. This is my mom's sister and her family and they are all very photogenic so EVERY SINGLE family shot actually turned out great!! First time I have had that happen. I just couldn't choose which ones to post because they were all so good! I hope they like them!! (this family is famous for the amazing tongue sticking out abilities so I think the one of them doing exactly that is PRICELESS!)

And yes....two of the cutest parents in the world too. One of the parts to doing photography that I have thoroughly enjoyed is taking pictures for my family. My own parents and I are constantly wondering why I didn't start this interest earlier and trust me I wish I had! What I see through a lens and then through editing is so exciting and so new to me even though I have known these people for all my life. In Utah I did many photo shoots of friends and family. The next 3 shoots are all going to be my family. This first one is truly one of my life long hero's and always will be someone I love and adore! These guys are neighbors and good friends of my parents and I. Also the dad was friends years ago with one of my husband's brothers so our paths have been destined to cross and we were bound to be friends. I love this mom she is absolutely so exotically beautiful even though she may think different at times. Their children are so good looking too!
